John Woodland, president of the Mount Gambier Greyhound Racing and Coursing Club Inc. in 2000-2001, has been appointed president of the club for 2018-2019.
This follows a meeting at Tara Raceway on Sunday afternoon at which he expressed thanks to the outgoing president, Steve Bartholomew, who had been in the role since 2009.
“The club owes a debt of gratitude to Steve for the amount of effort he has put into this club over a long period of time. He certainly leaves the club in a much stronger position than when he first took over as president,” he said.
Woodland (pictured), granted life membership of the club in 1995, has been involved with the Mount Gambier Greyhound Racing and Coursing Club Inc. since 1982 at Glenburnie, first as a steward and now a kennel attendant.
