The Tara Raceway dual slipping track and exercise area is situated in a safe and secure fully-fenced area on the northern side of the race track. The track is operated on a key holder basis with a fee of $100 a year giving trainers unlimited access to the track with the exception of when races or trials are being conducted at Tara Raceway. The facility is harrowed regularly and watered via an automatic sprinkler system. Keys for the slipping track can be purchased from the office on race days.

 

A NOTICE TO KEY HOLDERS

Use of drag lures: Participants are permitted to use approved drag lures.

Track cleanliness: Greyhounds must be emptied prior to accessing the slipping track and trainers are required to clean up after their greyhounds while on the track. An empyting bin is situated in the confines of the slipping track.

Track monitoring: The slipping track is under 24 hour recorded CCTV surveillance.

Main entrance gate closure: Trainers are asked to close the main entrance gate when leaving the track.
