It was a case of sharing the 10 winners around at last Thursday’s time-graded meeting at Tara Raceway.
And scoring his first win at the local track was Warracknabeal-based Ian Bibby’s four-year-old Orson Fury. He railed through down the back before finishing strongly for a 4¼ length win in the Da’Leni Meats TG5+W Stake (400 metres) over kennelmate Crymelon Comet in a time of 23.50 seconds.

“Soon after a GRV VicBred Maiden Series (450 m) came up at Warrnambool so we decided to have a go with him in that,” Bibby said.
“He made it through to the final after running second in a heat and then stormed home to win the $10,000 to the winner final in 25.59 seconds.”
Lorraine and Kyle Goodwin, the mother and son training team from Hamilton, both tasted success with Gnome To Burn and Blue To Burn.
A $19 chance, Gnome To Burn – a daughter of Beast Unleashed x Storm To Burn – was in front turning for home in the Carlin & Gazzard TG1-4W Stake (305 m) and held on to win by a neck over Miss Majestic in 18.38 seconds.
Blue To Burn, Gnome To Burn’s litter sister, found the front down the back in the Federal Hotel TG5+W Stake (400 m) before running out a strong 3½ length winner over kennelmate Princess To Burn in 23.42 seconds.
Cadillac Racing partners Cap Abbott and Kerry Hawker tasted success in their own right with Cadillac Patch and Cadillac Ragtop.
Lining up for start number 156, Cadillac Patch, a son of Aussie Infrared and Lady Bang Bang, led all the way in the Commercial Hotel TG5+W Stake (512 m) when defeating Lakeview Heather by 1¼ lengths in 30.43 seconds.
And Cadillac Ragtop, by Premier Fantasy x Pamela Rocks, led all the way from box two in the Quickmix Concrete Group Stake (400 m) and held on to defeat Rocklea Earle by 1¼ lengths in 23.30 seconds.
Making a real family affair of the Metal Worx TG1-4W Stake (400 m) were Dean and Edna Fennell of Glencoe who provided the trifecta with Compton Franky, Magic Poppy and Compton Tig.
Compton Franky led all the way from box six and held on to defeat Magic Poppy by three-quarters of a length with a further 5¼ lengths back to Compton Tig in 23.19 seconds.
Local trainer Kevin Patzel, after a 512 metre win the previous Sunday at Tara Raceway with Aston Darwin, followed up with a 400 metre success last Thursday in the Cadillac Racing TG5+W Stake.
Well back early, Aston Darwin still had plenty of work ahead of him when turning for home. But the son of Aston Rupee and Aston Opal stormed home along the rails to grab victory by the narrowest of margins over Rough Girl Slim and Cadillac Landau in a time of 23.59 seconds.
