Glenville Rose’s surprising all the way win in Sunday’s Bartholomew Pick 6 Stake (400 m), the first heat of a grade 5 series, further boosted her litter’s winning tally.
Owned and trained at Glenroy by Richard Clayfield, the $31 chance went one better than her kennelmate and younger half-sister Miss Sniper who earlier in the day had run second to Compton Redeemer in the South Eastern Hotel Maiden Stake (305 m).
By Aston Dee Bee, Glenville Rose is out of Majestic Tale, a daughter of Collision x Crystal Voice, and a winner of 16 races at Devonport, Launceston, Hobart, Gawler, Strathalbyn and Angle Park.
The December 2018 litter, bred at Morphett Vale by Damien Smith, has now won 46 races, Helen’s Memory (9 wins, $23,000 in stakemoney) and Fab Six (11, $11,000) so far the most successful.
Glenville Rose has won seven races as has De Minaur while Fiddly is a five-race winner, Shimmy Sharna (4) and Roxy Diva (3).
The litter is now spread far and wide – De Minaur in NZ, Fiddly in WA, Helen’s Memory, Fab Six and Roxy Diva in Victoria and Shimmy Sharna and Glenville Rose in SA. Fiddly, Fab Six and Shimmy Sharna were also originally trained by Clayfield.
And leading Tara Raceway dam, Sisco Sizzle, took her number of wins this year to 13 after the Peter Keane trained Nanda Sizzle defeated Sunset Firefly by three-quarters of a length in 23.21 seconds in the Trackside Meats Stake (400 m), the second heat of the grade 5 series.
