Michelle Niele lived with cystic fibrosis for all of her 23 years. And this Sunday’s meeting at Tara Raceway will be highlighted by the running of the Michelle Niele Memorial Dual Distance final over 600 metres.

Portland trainer Nicole Stanley, who will provide donation tins for the meeting, pointed out that every donation to cystic fibrosis, no matter how big or small, has the power to make a difference.

Michelle, who died in November 2019, was the daughter of well-known Berringa trainer Michael Niele, the pair former race-day regulars and their Berringa Park kennel operation a club sponsor.
