Earlier this week it was a case of Compton couple Tracie and Karen Price having their calls for help answered after brood bitch Headline encountered problems soon after whelping with her litter of 10 by Aussie Infrared.
In fact, such were the complications that Headline later died, leaving the Prices with six dogs and four bitches to be attended to.
Swiftly, the call went out for a foster mother – not always an easy ask. But Kyle Goodwin of Hamilton was quickly in touch. His bitch Spring To Wyn, who had whelped a litter of nine to SH Avatar in early January, had finished with her pups and still had some milk.
Koroit breeder Peter Byrne of Koroit also made contact. His bitch, Miss Lava, had whelped a litter of eight to Aston Kimetto at the end of January.
Speaking at Tara Raceway today, Tracie Price said he was pleased to report that through the help of the two brood bitches his pups were still doing well.
“Look, I can’t get to speak to everyone personally but I sincerely want to thank everyone who offered assistance and in particular thank Kyle and Peter for the loan of Spring To Wyn and Miss Lava,” he said.
