Greyhound Racing SA (GRSA) today announced Mount Gambier’s Federal Hotel Anniversary Cup (512 metres) prize money for the final will be substantially increased for the 2025/2026 season.

With four heats to be run on Sunday at Tara Raceway, the Anniversary Cup final on Sunday week (July 20) will now carry prize money of $25,000 instead of $10,000.

“In support of the Mount Gambier Greyhound Racing Club (MGGRC) and participants, the Anniversary Cup final boost has come as part of GRSA’s announcements in regard to prize money increases at all tracks,” said Racing Manager, Shaun Mathieson.

And GRSA, after liaising with the MGGRC, has advised that there will now be a $5000 feature 732 metre event added to the Sunday, July 20 program.

“This is a result of the MGGRC, concerned at the lack of staying greyhounds, changing and promoting the Eric Lewis Memorial as a feature 600 metre event. This will still be conducted and carry the advertised prize money of $5000,” said Mathieson.

“There had been some confusion regarding a 732 metre event which will now be conducted, and known as the Bill Ward Feature Distance, provided sufficient nominations are received.”
