Wind Whiskers continues her record-breaking run
Millicent trainer Dave Green’s record-breaking run with Wind Whiskers during the latter part of 2025 when the daughter of Beast Unleashed and Takers To Vegas twice broke the 305 metre track record at Tara Raceway has carried over into 2026.
She ran a record 17.27 seconds on October 19 prior to lowering that time on December 28 with a run of 17.24 seconds
Then at Tara Raceway’s first Category 2 meeting for 2026 on Sunday, January 4, Wind Whiskers lowered her record to 17.20 seconds after leading all the way from box four and defeating Trial King by 6¾ lengths.
And Compton-based Tracie Price, leading Mount Gambier trainer for the past four years, kicked off 2026 with two winners on Thursday, January 1 and then followed up with five at the Sunday meeting – Compton Shelly, Compton Baker, Capybara, Bomb Luca and Compton Lizzie.
Meanwhile, Dave Green is the Mount Gambier Greyhound Racing Club’s 2026 President. Joining him on the committee are Ben Price (Vice-President), Ruth Lewis (Secretary), Scott Blacksell, Kevin Jones, David Lewis, Noel Perry, Tracie Price and Michael Robinson.
