Three winners for local breeder-trainer

Sunday, February 23, 2020

Training honours for Sunday’s meeting went the way of Tracie Price who kicked off a day of three winners in the Rock’s Retreat Stake (400 m) with the Ryan Tugwell managed Next Racing Syndicate’s Finniss Looper.

Having her second start for Price, the beautifully bred blue bitch proved too good for Fabs You Go, winning by a length in 23.22 seconds.

Finniss Looper defeats Fabs You Go (No. 7) and Cee Magic in the Rock’s Retreat Stake (400 m) at Tara Raceway on Sunday.

By Barcia Bale, Finniss Looper is out of She’s A Looper, a litter sister to the Group 1 winning Worm Burner and herself a winner of 22 races and $51,000 in stakemoney.

Tandiki, who missed out on the Summer Classic final, flew the flag for the Peter Rocket x Headline litter when drawing well in box eight in a grade five 512 metre event and duly finished powerfully to defeat a gallant Crazy Old Duck by two lengths in a best of day 29.69 seconds.

And Maunganui Bella brought up the Compton-based trainer’s treble when defeating Harsh Jude by 1¼ lengths in 30.31 seconds in the Bourne Kennels Stake (512 m).

Price also bred three winners on the day – Tandiki, Maunganui Bella (Dyna Double One x Miss Freelove) and Cryer’s Spring, the son of Spring Gun x Grimsby Girl carving out a quick 22.98 seconds in the Greg Martlew Autos Stake (400 m) for Apsley trainer Tom Cryer.
