Successful litter’s tale continues

A recent double at Tara Raceway to sisters Glenville Rose and Shimmy Sharna continued the successful run for the Aston Dee Bee x Majestic Tale litter.

Majestic Tale, a daughter of Collision and Crystal’s Voice, won 16 races at Hobart, Launceston, Devonport, Angle Park, Gawler and Strathalbyn.

And Glenroy-based Richard Clayfield, who owns and trains Glenville Rose and is part-owner and trainer of Shimmy Sharna, continues to take a keen interest in the litter’s progress.

“I reared Glenville Rose and Shimmy Sharna, along with multiple winners De Minaur, Fab Six and Fiddly. Other members from the litter of 10 to also have won are Helen’s Memory, Roxy Diva and Diva’s Secret.

“And while it’s predominantly a short-course litter it has produced 67 winners in NSW, Victoria, SA, WA and New Zealand.”

Clayfield is currently pre-training several youngsters from a Majestic Tale litter by Magic Sprite for Morphett Vale breeder Damien Smith.

Meanwhile, another treble last Sunday to Jack Trengove, the 23-year-old trainer from Two Wells, has seen him move into the Ian Badger Leading Trainers top 10.

That’s a fair effort considering it was only in June that he first raced at Mount Gambier after having relocated from Broken Hill.

Since then, his regular visits to Tara Raceway have been highlighted by four doubles, five trebles and one day of four winners.

Jack Trengove and Stellar Stone after her win in the Rock’s Tavern Back to Distance Stake (732 m) last Sunday.

On October 31 he celebrated the return of distance racing at the local track when winning the Winning Post Supplies Back to Distance Racing Feature (732 metres) with Criminal.

And his most recent treble was kicked off by Stellar Stone in the Rock’s Tavern Back to Distance Racing Stake (732 m). She chased Springvale Anna until approaching the home turn where she took over the running and held out Whole Way for a two length win in 43.75 seconds.

By Fernando Bale x Voussoir, Stellar Stone is raced by the Michael Johnston-managed The Winning Edge Syndicate with Trengove being the brindle bitch’s sixth trainer.

“It was good to see her rewarded for her consistency after minor placings in the first two distance events to be run here in a long time. The staying journey is certainly no problem for her. I reckon she’d probably run another lap if you let her,” he said.
