Smart Knocka, locally-bred and part-owned at Compton by Tracie Price, opened his Victorian winning account at Ballarat over 450 metres last night.
Having his first start for the powerful Thompson kennel, Smart Knocka quickly found the front from box six and was never headed when running a smart time of 25.20 seconds.
By Knocka Norris out of Who’s Doing What, the blue dog switched kennels earlier this month after a big 2018 with Price which saw him run second in the SA Derby, win the Adelaide Cup Consolation – both at Angle Park – and also win the Peter Rocket Winter Classic at Tara Raceway.
Whelped in September 2016, the lightly-raced Smart Knocka has now won eight races and run three minor placings from 17 starts for stakemoney of more than $25,000.
