The Mount Gambier Greyhound Racing Club’s greyhound promotion, in conjunction with GAP SA, went off well at last weekend’s Mount Gambier Show.
In fact, so impressive was the greyhound stand that it received the Mount Gambier Agricultural & Horticultural Society Best Home & Leisure Exhibit award.
MGGRC president, Noel Perry, said over the two days of the show local trainers had made available retired greyhounds for the promotion.
“And the dogs certainly appreciated all the attention they received from the many adults and children who took the opportunity to interact with the laid-back animals,” he said.
“This was the first time the club and GAP had tried a promotion such as this and to be honest we didn’t really know how it would go. But it was a real hit with the show-going public and we will now look to return next year – bigger and better.”
