Portland breeder Nifty Lenehan reports that Lektra Brandy, a winner of 16 races and more than $23,000 in stakemoney, last Sunday whelped her first litter (four dogs and two bitches) – to Zambora Brockie, the sire of last week’s Warrnambool Cup winner Zambora Smokey.
Her biggest win on the track was last year’s Mount Gambier Anniversary Cup (512 m) when she staged an amazing performance to come from last and run down Dyna Naitch and the early leader Springvale Alysa in a race record 29.63 seconds.
Lektra Brandy is by the US sire KC And All out of Sandown Park distance winner Lektra Scarlett, a beautifully bred daughter of Trewly Special and Elektra.
And in January, Lektra Brandy’s sister, Lektra Viki – a winner of 12 races – whelped five dogs and six bitches, also to Zambora Brockie, for Lenehan’s brother Phil, of Toolong.
