Following the controversy last month regarding the Sims Family Memorial Maiden at Tara Raceway when there were insufficient nominations for two or more heats, the Mount Gambier Greyhound Racing Club will now follow the standard procedure of other SA clubs.
This means that in the case of there being only enough nominations to run one heat, the Greyhound Racing SA grader will grade the event as one heat with the same greyhounds competing in the final. Reserves for a one-off heat that do not gain a start will also be eligible for the final.
This condition has been in place for some time at the other clubs, however the MGGRC had previously re-called for nominations for a one-off final, greyhounds initially nominated given priority.
Trainers are reminded that any of their greyhounds running in a one-off heat will be required for the subsequent final.
