Vossy’s all-the-way win over 515 metres at Angle Park last Thursday night kicked off a successful few days for locally-owned greyhounds currently being trained in the Adelaide region.
Raced by Michael Robinson and Willie Vossen, the daughter of Dyna Double One x Miss Freelove brought up her first win at the city track after storming home to run second at the same venue three nights’ earlier for Lewiston trainer Troy Murray.
And at Angle Park on Monday night, Sweet On Me, part-owned by David Peckham and trained at Lewiston by Ben Rawlings, made it two wins in succession at the track when leading all the way over 515 metres for a 5¼ lengths win in 29.98 seconds.
Later on Monday night, Missing Mate led all the way over 388 metres for owner Kevin “KD” Douglas and Calomba trainer Paul Fagan – the win the first for the son of Kinloch Brae x Bonnie’s Secret since stringing together three in a row at Tara Raceway back in January.
At Murray Bridge on Sunday night the locally owned and trained Galactic Horizon shrugged off the early pressure before running out a 1½ lengths winner over 455 metres in 25.79 seconds for Robert Chuck and Steve Bartholomew.
By Paddy Whacker x Galactic Rumball, Galactic Horizon’s litter sister Galactic Athena – owned by Chuck and trained at Lara by David Geall – will race on Thursday night over 450 metres at Warrnambool after finishing unplaced at Sandown Park last week.
Another litter sister, Galactic Destiny, owned by Elysia Bartholomew and trained by Murray, will contest the last race on Thursday night at Angle Park over 515 metres.
