Minnie Banjo, a daughter of Banjo Boy x Navada Flame and a litter sister and kennelmate to Giant’s Flash – who last Sunday won the Exchange Printers Anniversary Cup (512 metres) for Tracie Price – later in the day brought up a treble for the Compton-based trainer.
The win by the 400 metre Tara Raceway record holder in the Todd’s Photographics Open Stake also gave Price his 100th Mount Gambier winner for 2022.
This year at the local track he has trained seven doubles and 10 trebles, along with four winners on five occasions. And twice he has trained six winners.
But Price’s biggest day so far has been the Sunday, March 13 meeting when Charley Davidson, Warby’s Delight, Gold Comet and Whole Way gave him a flying start prior to littermates Banjo Bert, Giant’s Flash and Minnie Banjo completing a record-breaking day of seven winners.
