Bill Ward, one of the driving forces behind the early days of greyhound racing in Mount Gambier, celebrated his 90th birthday last week. Bill was a member of the South East Greyhound Racing Club committee when racing commenced out at Glenburnie in July 1979. He was also president of the Mount Gambier Greyhound Racing & Coursing Club from 1991 through to 1997 when greyhound racing commenced at the Lake Terrace East venue.
