From October, Tara Raceway’s Thursday time-graded meetings will undergo a format change.
Currently, the Mount Gambier Greyhound Racing Club is running maiden events along with non-penalty grade six and grade five “lower grade” races every Thursday afternoon at its Lake Terrace East venue.
Next month, while maiden events will remain unchanged at Tara Raceway time-graded meetings, the non-penalty graded races will be replaced with 1 to 4 wins and 5+ wins as is the case at Angle Park and Gawler.
There will be five Thursday meetings next month with the grading criteria of “worst to best” remaining unchanged.
Forthcoming feature events include the SA Country Cup heats (512 m) on Sunday, September 22 and the $7500 final at Angle Park on Adelaide Cup night (Friday, October 11).
November will feature the time-honoured Newman McDonnell Memorial, a grade five series over 512 metres, along with the Border Challenge heats (512 m) on Sunday, November 24.
The Border Challenge final will be run over 450 metres at Warrnambool on Thursday, December 5. Later in the month, Tara Raceway’s Christmas Cup meeting will be staged on Sunday, December 22.
