Races don’t come much better than last Sunday’s Produce Store Open Stake (512 m), with plenty of interest in whether Galactic Destiny, a slashing 29.71 seconds grade five winner last week, could handle a significant rise in class.
As it turned out, the daughter of Paddy Whacker and Galactic Rumball was equal to the task for Robert Chuck and Steve Bartholomew when chasing Squishy Pea for much of the journey before getting up in a head-bobber in 29.91 seconds.
And Chuck, who bred Galactic Destiny, reports that her half-sister Galactic Cat (by Milldean Panther) recently whelped one dog and three bitches to the US sire Flying Stanley.
Galactic Cat, a litter sister to Summer Classic winner Galactic Panther, won races at Mount Gambier, Bendigo, Traralgon, Warrnambool and Horsham.
