Greyhound Racing SA (GRSA), following work on the Mount Gambier Greyhound Racing Club Participant Project, is now seeking further input from the MGGRC.
And MGGRC club manager, Mark Dwyer, said that target groups that needed to be identified included past participants, other codes, recently-retired people and interstate trainers.
“We will now need to work as a collective on this in order to bring together the target list and actions to approach people,” he said.
“It has also been suggested that we work with a couple of the bigger trainers in Mount Gambier to offer ownership of likely better performing greyhounds to bring in new owners.”
GRSA CEO Bodelle Francis said a quality seminar needed to be developed in order to bring all interested parties together.
“Marketing manager Matt Watson and the team are working on the seminar presentation and framework.
“However we will need Mount Gambier’s assistance with things such as a list of interested parties or people that will be approached.
“And we will also need seminar assistance from people such as local owners, trainers and the like,” she said.
