Conspicuous in a variety of attire at Sunday’s Tara Raceway meeting were Nangwarry Football Club supporters. And they entered into the spirit of the day, even conducting a foot race at the conclusion of the greyhound meeting.
Also entering into the spirit of the day was Compton trainer Tracie Price who trained five winners – Compton Brockie, Compton Special, Compton Charlie, Lakeview Jet and Hannah Rocks.
And Price was more than happy for the Nangwarry boys to step in for a group shot with Compton Charlie after he defeated Santa Barbara by 2½ lengths in 23.16 seconds in the Exchange Printers Stake (400 m).
This was the fifth consecutive win at Tara Raceway for Compton Charlie, a son of Aston Kimetto and Cairnlea Pebbles.
