After 11 years with Greyhound Racing SA (GRSA), Matt Corby has resigned from his CEO role to take up an interstate senior opportunity within the golfing industry.
He had joined GRSA at a time when it was facing a number of challenges to its commercial and racing models.
And it’s fair to say that he identified the need for change to the venue strategy in South Australia, including consolidation and redevelopment. Fortunately, Mount Gambier made the cut.
With more than $20 million invested by GRSA over the past decade, the Mount Gambier Greyhound Racing Club has shared in capital works that have modernised tracks and facilities at TAB venues in strategic regions.
Corby generally made a point of attending the annual Mount Gambier Cup, first run in 1981 and granted Listed status in 2018. And from his visits it soon became obvious that the connection between GRSA and participants had never been stronger.
“I’m pleased to be leaving the industry in good shape,” said Corby, who will finish on Friday, January 14. “GRSA has provided me with a wonderful experience. No two days in this sport are ever the same.”
