Kevin Patzel, winner of December’s Community Christmas Lunch Tara Tipsters series, has followed up with another win, this time proving too good for the opposition in the Sunset Community Kitchen Chase for Charity.
In front for all but the first round of the 17-meeting series, Patzel, 464 points, left the previous recent competition heavyweights in his wake when defeating Craig Grubb and Tim Aloisi by 28 and 30 points respectively.
Representatives from the Sunset Community Kitchen, which was where it all started by way of Catch for Cash, will be at Tara Raceway on Sunday, March 10 to receive a Tara Tipsters donation following the running of the Tara Tipsters Cup.
To be run over 512 metres for grade six greyhounds, nominations for the one-off race will close with GRSA at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Tara Tipsters will kick off again on Thursday, March 7 and throw its support behind Mount Gambier Foodbank. The series will end on Thursday, May 2.
And joining the Tara Tipsters for this series – and hopefully many more – is Greyhound Racing SA (GRSA) board member Ben Kavenagh who expressed keen interest in the concept on a recent visit to Tara Raceway.
Ben recently stepped off the board and filled the interim role of GRSA CEO while the board worked through its list of CEO candidates – the key role ultimately being filled by Brenton Scott.
