It was a big night out at Worrolong last Thursday for Steve and Lee Bartholomew after Yoda Lady brought up her sixth consecutive city win when winning the Group 3 $36,500 Howard Ashton (530 m) Special Event at Angle Park.

In third spot down the back, Yoda Lady finished powerfully in the home straight when defeating Zinfandel Evie by 1½ lengths in 30.85 seconds. Also running a terrific race was Pat and Patricia Bouchier’s maiden greyhound Tappet who finished in third spot.
By Blazin Wildfire out of 2019 Mount Gambier Cup winner Galactic Athena, Yoda Lady was bred by the Bartholomews who, due to travelling constraints, in February entrusted her to Finniss trainer Lauren Harris.
“Lauren and Ryan (Tugwell) have done a terrific job with her and Just Alfie, who also won tonight for us. We certainly can’t thank them enough,” they said.
Meanwhile, local trainer Jason Newman and his daughter Zari made the long trip from Moorak and enjoyed a good night at Angle Park when Zipping Shakira led all the way in the Greyhounds As Pets Stake (530 m) for a 2¾ length win in 30.86 seconds.
