As things have turned out, Ettrick trainer Adrien Chevalier is more than grateful for the opportunity offered him by fellow Murray Bridge greyhound man Neville Loechel and Victorian trainer Angela Langton to train Weblec Snip.
A September 2023 white and fawn son of Fernando Bale and Weblec Star, he’s raced by Loechel’s Weblang Syndicate which is managed by Langton.

“A maiden winner over 460 metres at Geelong back in August, we took him over last month and after three handy 395 metre runs at Murray Bridge we decided on a change of scenery for him and brought him down to Mount Gambier back on October 12,” Chevalier said.
“Given it was his first look at the track we were pretty happy with his fourth placing and together with my daughter, Bella Watkins, we returned last Thursday – gaining a run purely by chance given that he had been graded as a reserve.”
Jumping from box two in the Carlin & Gazzard TG1-4W Stake (400 m), Weblec Snip settled in second spot behind Just Rylee before taking up the running off the back and defeating second-starter Compton Chinook by a length in a quick 23.03 seconds.
The win was Chevalier’s first at Tara Raceway in three years when he had been successful with Jimali, a son of My Bro Fabio and Janali.
Father and daughter have been involved in greyhound racing for 14 years and five years respectively with Chevalier rating his best dog as Adele’s Entity, a winner of 10 races at Angle Park and Murray Bridge – the highlight being the 2021 Kings and Queens at Angle Park.
The daughter of Fernando Bale and Zara’s Entity has since whelped three litters to Hooked On Scotch, Stout Monelli and Equalizer.
